Field Experience Overview

Explore the great outdoors with our Colorado Academic Standards-based Field Experiences! Through our hands-on, place-based curriculum, students investigate ecosystems, water resources, and native species, all while engaging in real field science practices. We also bring the adventure to you, adapting our lessons for your classroom or schoolyard, making environmental education accessible wherever you are.

Schools in Greeley-Evans District 6 can participate in all PLC programming FREE of charge. Charter schools and schools outside of D6 may schedule Field Experiences at $25 per student. For in-school programs and higher education institutions, please inquire about pricing.

Frequently Asked Questions

If there is a charge for our school, what is the process for paying?

If your school is charged a tuition fee, an invoice will be sent to you at your school from the Greeley School District finance office. Please forward this to your finance department for payment. Please do not bring payment on your scheduled day. It is important to note due to staffing requirements that you will be charged for the number of students stated on your request form even if less students actually arrive on the day of your Field Experience.

What academic content is covered in a Field Experience or in a school program?

Each Field Experience or In-School Experience fits the needs of the school, classroom, and students. Specific programming requests are handled by our Curriculum Specialist, Brittany Peterson. Each program is based on the Colorado standards and is place-based! We use our outdoor, natural space as the phenomenon we study. Students engage in earth and life science topics such as erosion, water quality, animal adaptations, habitats, and more! We also offer less academic topics, such as survival skills and team building.
