Vertically-Aligned Curriculum
Our Curriculum Coordinator works with each class to make the Field Experience unique to them. All activities will be an extension of what the students are learning in the classroom.
Hands-on Experience
All activities at the PLC are hands-on and encourage students to participate and ask questions. We believe that experiencing learning instead of just reading about it can inspire a life-long love of learning.
Our Five Pillars
Nature Connection
Students in our programs will participate in activities that connect them to nature to make them feel safe in an outdoor environment.
Health and Environment
Our field programs will focus on students thriving mentally, physically, and socially through movement activities, building relationships, and using nature as healing.
Environmental Literacy
Our programs will align with state and national standards in order to create an environmentally literate community that is aware of the environmental issues we are facing.
Advocacy
Our programs aim to advocate for environmental issues and equity in the outdoors.
Innovation
Our programs use creative ways to identify problems based on research, student needs, interests & cultural knowledge, and emerging technology.
